AUTOZONE JOINS BERNSTEIN’S BUDWEISER/LUCAS OIL NHRA RACE TEAM

            LAKE FOREST, Calif. (Jan. 26) – Six-time NHRA champion Kenny Bernstein today announced that AutoZone will join his Budweiser/Lucas Oil race team as a major associate sponsor for the 2005 season.

            “We are very excited to welcome AutoZone to our racing family,” said Bernstein.  “Their sponsorship with our team represents several years of dedicated effort on both sides to put all the parts and pieces together.  We are thrilled that we have implemented a program that will be mutually beneficial.”

            As of November 20, 2004, AutoZone had 3,448 domestic stores and 64 in Mexico.
