During the 51st running
of the Mac Tools US Nationals, this Red Mac Tools
Tech Series (MB8800 bottom box and MB8810 top box)
sat on the starting line right in-between the drag
racing action. Of course, being that close to the
race cars and drivers has brought true racing authenticity
in many ways:
- The box has been signed
by nearly all of the drivers in the professional
categories, including Big Names like Doug and
Scott Kalitta, John
Force, Eric Medlen,
Del Worsham, and Greg Anderson (just to name a few)
- Many parts of the box
are still covered
in rubber sent airborne by burnouts
from 7,000 horsepower top fuel and funny car classes
- The box still smells like nitro, especially
inside the drawers - you don't get much more authentic
than that.
This box is a true collector's

Columbus, Ohio, September
26, 2005 – Mac Tools announces
its plans to auction the driver-autographed toolbox
from the starting line of the 51st annual Mac Tools
US Nationals, the most prestigious NHRA event on
the drag racing circuit. On September 29, the Mac
Tools toolbox will be up for bid on the online auction
site Ebay® for ten
days with 100% of the proceeds going to the American
Red Cross to assist in the hurricane relief efforts.
The Mac Tools tool box is autographed by all 64
drivers of the four professional classes (Top Fuel,
Funny Car, Pro Stock, Pro
Stock Bike) that qualified for the race which took
place August 31-September 5, 2005. Drivers who autographed
the box include John Force, Brandon Bernstein, Larry
Dixon, and Doug Kalitta.
“Auctioning the Mac Tools US Nationals box
for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts is one of the
many things Mac Tools is doing to help those who
lost everything in this terrible natural disaster,“
said Roger Spee, Director
of Marketing. “We know that any NHRA race
fan will jump at the chance to own this piece of
US Nationals memorabilia, so why not give them the
opportunity to collect this item and make a solid
contribution to rebuilding lives.”
The red Mac Tools Toolbox
includes a top and bottom chest (Product Number
MB8800 & MB8810) containing 13 drawers for storage
and providing over 27,000 cubic inches of space.
